We have over 150 years of experience in providing customers with high-quality specialist joinery, bespoke carpentry and creative renovations. Based in Dundee we have a team of over 40 fully trained and highly skilled joiners who work with architects, and other professional teams to deliver a range of diverse projects for our customers.
Founded in 1863 the company changed its name to Alexander Oastler Ltd in 1923 when the company was taken over by the husband of the family's grand-daughter. Joining as an apprentice in 1930, Lawson Ramsay worked with the company until he was called to serve during the Second World War. After the war, he teamed up with David Urquart and bought the company from Alexander 'Sandy' Oastler and continued to build on Oastler's reputation as a specialist joiner and building contractor.In 2004, Mr Brian Thomson took over the position of Managing Director after having started as an apprentice joiner in 1978.

Quoted in Jan 2017, work not done until Oct 2017 as I had to wait to be fitted in. Door arrived and was a massive 6 cms too small, yes true craftmanship this. They bodged a repair by placing a plank of wood in the gap - this is a 1800 door! The door was then left as is and I was ensured a plasterer would be out to finish the job, eight months on of continual promises, emails and let downs I am still waiting.
All the while they have been sending me threatening letters for payment, you think I am going to pay for a job you haven't finished? What a joke of a company, their Director was asked to contact me too after he returned from his holiday, has he contacted me? Of course not, the Director will also treat any complaints with the contempt. I would not touch this firm with a barge pole, I should have trusted the other poor reviews and gone elsewhere. See you jokers in court.
